Warning: Long long long entry. Please be prepared.
3 very fruitful days have passed. Moments that I will remember my whole life. Tragic events that happened. Glorious moments we felt. Joyous times spent together. All in just 3 days.
Singapore River Regatta 2004. I felt confident and full of vibe the first day, although I woke up late... =X I was packed with vigour and strength, ensuring myself that WE were going to achieve great heights this race. After a phototaking session, the TEAM headed to the temple to pray and soon after had breakfast. We then headed down to put our bags down and readied ourselves for warmup.
Actually, I don't feel like re-itinerating the stuff about the races because I think many others have already mentioned them, thus not needing me to mention them as well. In addition, I do not want to mention the sad stuff that day. I prefer more to emphasize on the HAPPY ones. =D
It all boiled down to the 2nd day. I was early this time around. We repeated the same procedures as the day before and yes the races began. Was proud that our girls' team managed to both get into the semi-finals of women's opens and team b guys for getting into the semis as well. Luck was not on our side, but both girls and guys got into the plate finals of the opens. And yes! WE did manage to earn 2 bronze plates! WOOHOO! Congrats to both the teams man! Was so overjoyed that WE could get the prizes! Although this Regatta ain't the best we had, one warning goes out to everyone else: NPDB WILL BE BACK!
What I felt most heartwarming was the fact that once the men's plate finals were over, our whole team came together and jumped about shouting out "Ngee Ann! Ngee Ann!". It was such an impactful and marvellous sight. It encumbered a sense of team bonding and strength that no other word can really describe. At that moment, I felt so glad to be part of NPDB. I'm sure no team could have matched that bond that WE had. 80 souls and 1 heart on fire. That is what WE are. Tough lessons have been learnt in this race. WE must amend our mistakes and prove ourselves better in future races. WE will not let our seniors down. WE will do the school proud. WE will continue the legend. WE are NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC DRAGONBOAT TEAM!
More of what happened today, or yesterday. Had our race dinner at the Grand Copthorne. It was a good one. Can't really resist the mouth-watering SAMBAL PRAWNS! Yum yum yum! I think it was the first time I ever ate that many prawns. =D Played some games as well, had tons of fun sabo-ing people and such... Muahahahaha! BUT, also got sabo-ed... -_-" After that sumptuous dinner, a group of us made our way down to Party World to karaoke! Quite fun lah considering the fact most of us were singing with sore throats and bla bla bla... Not to mention the fact that Ah Huat can sing sia! Wahahahaha~ Enjoyed myself thoroughly...
Not much could be said lah. Looking forward to training at 5.30pm later. Penang Penang Penang. Aiming to do well there... WE shall see~ =D Jinzaoteh~
Peace ouT.
7, 8, 9, 10, STRETCH OUT!
